History
Caraway Electric was established in 1983 by Tommy Sykes in Sophia, North Carolina. The name Caraway was derived from the Keyauwee (now Caraway) Indians from the early 18th century. The Keyauwee Indians settled near the Uwharrie River in Randolph County of North Carolina. Caraway Creek branches off of the Uwharrie River and is also nearby Caraway Mountain. The original headquarters of Caraway Electric is located in this area.
Caraway Electric started as a residential electrical company 40 years ago. Caraway has since grown into a commercial and federal integration company. Caraway is certified and licensed to perform electrical, security, and professional audio/video system integration projects. In 2018, Tommy's son, Thomas, took the reigns of the company and continues the "Strive for Perfection" attitude through project delivery, developing customer and partner relationships, and continuing to exceed expectations.
